Other than that most people I know seems to believe it's either on par with Caribean Tales or somewhat better. That's why I said I was against it out of principle and butthurt alone. So my proud feminazi half is not going to touch that game with a ten foot long pole, hmpf.

When they noticed they had no time to finish the five diferent storylines or whatever they decided to pack the game with only three of them, the girl character being one of those they scrapped. Just like Caribean Tales allows you to pick from between two diferent characters, one guy and one girl, at the begining, City of abandoned ships was originally going to allow you to pick from about, uhm, I believe five diferent characters, four guys and one girl. Do not, under any circumstance, try Florensia, however, as it is the exact opposite of those other two games I mentioned: A run of the mill, grind happy MMO with a pirate theme slaped onto it. If you don't mind playing along other people, of whom only a few will be cool, try both Pirates of the Burning Sea and Uncharted Waters Online, both F2P online games that don't follow the usual MMO gameplay model and implement a lot of good ideas, though there's also some fail on them. There's also the Uncharted Waters, aka Daikoukai Jidai, series, but I believe only the first two games, for NES and SNES, where ever translated into civilized languages, so check ROM sites for them.

Sea Dogs 2, aka Pirates of the Caribean, is said to be incredibly awesome when fully modded but I am not heavily into mods so I can only repeat what was told to me about it. I have not played the last one, City of abandoned ships, out of principle and butthurt so I can't say anything about that one. I would recomend both Sea Dogs and Age of Pirates: Caribean Tales as long as you have a high tolerance to awesome ideas being shoddily implemented.
